Roughly two million years ago, a small body of water containing an ancient community of microbes was sealed beneath the surface of the Taylor Glacier. Trapped below a thick layer of ice, the microbes have remained isolated inside a natural time capsule, in a place with no light, oxygen, or heat. The trapped lake has very high salinity and is rich in iron, which gives the seepage its red color. A fissure in the glacier allows the microbial subglacial lake to flow out, forming the falls without contaminating the ecosystem within. (via Blood Falls, a “bleeding” glacier, is a natural time capsule containing a unique ecosystem)

THIS IS WHERE THE ZOMBIPOCALYPSE COMES FROM!!!

I would like all of these keys please.

I want them, and yet, most of them terrify me.

this is for everyone who, like me, when they saw this the first time went oh and realized that television can have truth and depth in it and slowly started selling their soul to joss whedon for more moments just like this

We have been worshiping at the Altar of Whedon since 1997.

HANDS DOWN the best version of the Darcy/Elizabeth *moment* I’ve ever seen.

Seriously. I mean I get the whole “it’s period and they wouldn’t have just started devouring each other on the lawn” logic, and when done well, chastity can be very hott, but this? This is perfection. So perfectly captures the essence of the moment: Elizabeth gets over herself and Darcy finally trusts her enough to let the last of his guards down.

You know how you have an image of a thing in your head and nothing you ever see outside your head can compare and then one day it’s like someone reached right into your head and plucked it out what you see?

This is my thing and this is that day.

It’s like it’s what you’d wear when you wanted to sneak out of the house in the 19th century. I love it :)
